Windows ISO are uncompressed and does not contain a particular format. They are a part-by-part copy of the data in simple disc. Particularly the data is in ISO file is also binary format. The data inside the ISO file is stored according to the file system used on the optical disc. In ISO file only the data are stored from each part on optical disc. The size of the data is 2048 bytes and the size of ISO file will be double of the size of data 2048. The ISO file extension is most commonly used for this type of optical disc. The other extension such as img (extension format) are also found in ISO files like Images from Microsoft DreamSpark. And udf extension also use in ISO files which highlight the format of file that file in ISO is actually UDF format not in ISO 9660.
